The North Macedonia motorway consists of two sections in the east heading south from the capital Skopje and running parallel to the Sharr mountains, one section passing through the UNESCO natural world heritage site around Lake Ohrid (one of Europe's deepest and oldest lakes), with the fourth section in the South of the country close to the border with Greece which will enhance connectivity between the cities of Bitola and Prilep.To achieve this goal individuals from Bechtel bring their experience and expertise to the role while working within the client's organisation as part of an integrated team. In the Design Liaison Manager role, you will be required to work with the government officials, government appointed design entities, BEJV joint venture partner team members, construction and various contractors where, in addition to providing technical services,** **you will have the opportunity to participate in knowledge transfer, coaching and professional guidance to add long-term value to the client's operation.Working at the Project Management Organization (PMO) level, the Design Liaison position reports to the Design Manager and will get actively involved with Project design activities. Great flexibility and proven strategic data reporting & analysis are necessary for this high visibility and significant highway knowledge-based role. This position interfaces with the Client's project team and its contractor entity to support the review and evolution of the design delivery approach and provides technical expertise & guidance.**Typical Responsibilities**The incumbent staff for Design Liaising will co-ordinate engineering activities to support overall project delivery, including:- Provides oversight of all engineering design activities by third parties and precast modular construction engineering activities on the project.- Chair design package review meetings with Employer on periodical basis. Coordinates design package submittal to Employer.- Update design manager of critical issues with design package progress. Prepare and issue weekly progress status of ongoing design packages to project leadership team.- Coordinate with project controls team on day-to-day basis to ensure design progress is in line with project schedule of works.- Work closely with design review team, consolidate review comments received from different stakeholders (construction, field engineering) including constructability comments. Resolve the closure of comments with responsible design entity.- Establishes/manages the precast modular construction engineering budget, maintains ownership, and ensures execution within approved budgets.- Reviews major changes or deviations in the highway design and precast construction project scope, project material quantities, budget or schedule, and assists particularly with defining the change, obtaining accurate estimates of the hours involved, and recommending budget adjustment.- Provide guidance and expert experience to support the selection of qualified vendors, with particular focus on specialty work packages.- Drive continuous improvement through collaboration with the joint venture partner organization to enhance and supplement procedures.
