S/he provides direction and leadership over the Communication team.The Communication Director develops, oversees, and implements an integrated, efficient, and effective communications, media and engagement strategies and plans to help drive the organizational strategy to increase YKAN visibility in Indonesia and across different the organization units. S/he facilitates on-going communication between different parts of the organization, support strategic communication with external stakeholders (including the different ministries), and identifies communication needs and opportunities. S/he will work closely with Indonesia Leadership Team to develop and maintain staff engagement. S/he works closely with Conservation, Development & Marketing, and Membership leaders and team members, to co-create compelling and comprehensive communication strategies, plans, and stewardship collaterals for donors. S/he manages communication strategies and program implementation for high profile or key audiences like YKAN Board of Patrons, Boards of Supervisors, Advisory Committees, and donors. S/he oversees the development of strategic media engagement and digital communication plans, develops, and strengthens relations with key persons in selected media. S/he directs and manages a team of communications staff to deliver and implement communication activities and manage budget effectively.**Specific duties include**:**Media Partnership**- Conduct media mapping and analysis to identify selected media to effectively communicate YKAN mission and vision at national and sub-national/local media.- Build engagement strategy for identified selected media.- Develop and maintain strong relationships with identified selected media.- Proactively provide updates on YKAN works with key persons in selected media**Constant Messaging**- Oversee timely update and maintenance of websites and social media platforms.- Oversee and ensure the development of social media plans and coordination across different units.- Lead and coordinate communication response in urgent/crisis-management situations and is the point person for ensuring timely and effective communication.- Manages communication strategies and program implementation for high profile or key audiences like YKAN Board of Patrons, Board of Supervisors, and Advisory Committees.- Ensure messages across divisions are aligned with YKAN mission and vision.**Branding Activities/Material & Collateral**- Manages YKAN brand delivery and consistency in Indonesia in supporting the fundraising and conservation.- Manages the strategic and creative design of materials/collateral in supporting YKAN fundraising and conservation, when necessary, the organization global image.- Develops, coordinates, and oversees programs, technical assistance, and resource materials to assist various divisions in the communications for positioning of their program activities.- Works closely with Conservation, Development & Marketing, and Membership leaders and teams, to co-create compelling and comprehensive communication strategies, plans, and stewardship collaterals for donors such as newsletters, factsheets, etc.- Capitalize YKAN events to strengthen branding.- Actively involved at key YKAN events to help building networks and visibility.- Work closely with relevant communication teams with the larger organization for coordination and larger communication/branding impacts.**Capitalizing Opportunities**- Galvanizing champions.- Co-hosting events.- Develop plan to have better engagement with our digital followers to generate potential members.The Communication Director reports to the Executive Director and is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.**RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE**:- Designs, directs, and manages donor driven, strategic communications planning; inclusive of coordinating the work of other professionals, managing budget, and ensuring program accountability.- Broad Management responsibility for professional communications staff that are responsible for key in
