Position Title : West Kalimantan Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator
Reports to : Sustainable Landscape Theme Leader

Duty Station : West Kalimantan, Indonesia
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To support and facilitate local coordination within Peat IMPACT Indonesia, Green Growth Initiative, and other ICRAF support to local government and development process in West Kalimantan and Kalimantan Island.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific Project Goals
1. Facilitate the engagement process to the stakeholders including government and non-government institutions in West Kalimantan, surrounding area and Kalimantan Island.
2. Facilitate overall project implementation and ensure good collaboration of the project and the stakeholders.
3. Conduct and facilitate the provincial and districts workshop during project implementation.
4. Facilitate expert network at province level as a centre of excellence for capacity building of human resources on green growth planning, land use planning, regional and spatial development planning, peat management, and monitoring & evaluation of regional developments.
5. Supervise and support the local facilitator to develop a document on low emission development strategy (LED), green growth planning and Strategic Environment Assessment (SEA).
6. Supervise and support the local facilitator to develop the intervention strategy and action plan and to seek local government support legal formal documents.
7. Supervise and monitoring on deliverable sub-grant to local partners.
8. Support in developing and implementing exit strategy for Peat IMPACT program at district and provincial level.
Professional advisory services
1. The West Kalimantan Stakeholder Engagement Officer will support the daily management and implementation of the project by day-to-day supervision of program and coordination of activities in the province, district and village level.
2. Explain and describe of goals, objectives and activities of the project to governmental and non-governmental organizations.
3. In collaboration with project leader, ensure necessary program planning, development and implementation at provincial level function smoothly and efficiently.
4. Identify and inform project leader and direct supervisor of successes, challenges and lessons learned from the area.
5. Facilitate monitoring and review of program implementation at the province, district and village level and provides advices and supports to resolve issues in the field.
6. Supervise the efficient selection of beneficiaries and ensure their proper distribution in collaboration with the representative of implementing partners and government agencies.
7. Remain responsible to facilitate coordination activities related to planning, designing, implementation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation process.
8. Monitor the activities regularly and report the necessary information and progress to immediate supervisor.
9. Shortfalls and obstacles in the implementation of planned activities that would require immediate action and propose relevant recommendations and corrective measures.
Management and coordination
1. Report financial accountability procedures for ICRAF office in West Kalimantan to include the timely and accurate submission of relevant financial reports.
2. Oversee and supervise the provision of logistics support, to include base management, supply inventory, and vehicle and equipment maintenance.
3. Assist in the preparation of semi-annual and annual report (financial and operational).
4. Monitor project activities and prepare timely field progress.
5. Identify keep accurate recording and archiving of all activities, including financial records, data, pictures, attendance sheets, activity reports, correspondence, etc.
6. Purchase of items needed for project implementation following donor’s financial requirements.
7. Oversee and supervise all base support staff, to include for their evaluation.
8. Develop a coordination mechanism for the collaborating partners of the Project.
9. Prepare all logistical matters related to trainings and meetings.
10. Prepare schedule for field activities, surveys and training programs, including identification of local partners, who are potentially interested in the Project.
Communication and networking
1. Facilitate and maintain positive working relations with municipalities and relevant stakeholders in community to ensure cooperation and success of project implementation.
2. Facilitate linkages with local government (departments), local NGOs, CSOs, social groups, for different and comprehensive development activities.
3. Provide support to the development of communication and partnership arrangements.
4. Remain in close contacts with the local elders. Pass on immediately their problems to respective working group, or project consortium for timely solution.
5. Adhere measures and liaise with Bogor office, partner organizations, and local official.
Knowledge management
1. To be familiar with the cultural, socio-economic and political environment of the region and province of West Kalimantan.
2. Draws up reports and presentation documents.
3. Communicate the results and lessons learned documentation.
4. Organize all the data, methods and knowledge documentation related to the above tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIRED ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum education bachelor’s degree (S-1) in forestry, geography, agriculture, social science, and/or other related fields.
MINIMUM RELEVANT WORKING EXPERIENCE
• Stay or the recent activity based in West Kalimantan (Pontianak and surrounding) or experienced for many years, with a strong relationship with government agencies, Non-Government Organization, and private sectors.
• Minimum 5 (five) years of a successful work experience record in the subject area (s) related to project management & implementation.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Good knowledge of the area/region and its local customs.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated self-motivational and result-oriented nature.
• Ability to plan and prioritize workload and strong monitoring and reporting skills.
• Good networking skills and knowledge on local and national NGO’s in Indonesia.
• Good knowledge of negotiations.
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, or any office application).
• Strong character, multitasking person who is able to work under pressure.
• Well organized; able to meet deadlines, good understanding of time management.
• Proactive and self-motivated, able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in multi-cultural teams.
• Good knowledge of communication (Indonesian and English).
• Willing to learn new skills/knowledge related to the scope/content of the specific projects.
• Generates creative, practical approaches to overcome challenging situations.
• Willing to receive feedback from others.
• Has a vision to develop the organization and an intention of continuous improvement.
