The role will involve conducting the basic security operations. Strong understanding of all of the relevant Employer Guidance and security procedures/SOPs. Communication skills, ability to deal with difficult situations and a good knowledge of Company people and systems. Good local language written and oral skills, and good working ability in English. Able to enforce site policies in a professional, non-confrontational way. Be reliable and trustworthy with ability to work on own initiative. Able to receive instruction especially within a crisis situation. Polite, approachable, neat and presentable.
Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for providing Site Security duties and on an operational level across the applicable site constantly reviewing operational security risk.
2. Being a first line responder to an incident and assist in security investigations as directed.
3. To promote the first impression of the business focusing on the creating and maintaining a professional image to be projected to all and dealing with enquiries promptly and effectively whether in person over the phone or via email.
4. Duties will involve dealing with contractors, issuing them ID's and conducting health and security briefings accordingly.
5. Maintain a polite, courteous, and friendly manner towards the public, the client, and colleagues.
6. Make rounds of inspection at fixed intervals and reports in by means of radio or other devices.
7. Prevent the admittance to the premises of unauthorized persons.
8. Investigate unusual conditions; Seek and Search in emergency situations.
9. Report damage to perimeter or other property or buildings which compromise security.
10. Always maintaining a good corporate image and high standards of professionalism through adherence to directions from management.
11. Remain alert and vigilant to activity on the site to ensure risks are minimized through prompt action and reporting to the security control room / supervisor.
12. Report suspicious persons, vehicles activities immediately to the Control Room / supervisor, when the situation is perceived an emergency.
13. Maintain a healthy and safe place of work, ensuring all posts are in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
14. Report missing, damaged or unserviceable equipment to line supervisor.
15. Carry out all other duties as required by the supervisor.
16. Prevent the admittance to the premises of unauthorized persons.
Skills and Key Requirements Minimum Bachelor's Degree.
Minimum of 5 years experience.
Be physically able to carry out duties.
Good personal & organizational skills.
Ability to operate Microsoft Office adequately.
Ability to deal with complaints in a calm manner and escalate these as necessary.
Excellent team-working skills and experience gained via service in the police, military or other government security agency or similar security roles.
Strong knowledge of security systems principals.
Honesty and integrity.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility and Reliability.
Demonstrated ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure.
Have experience and understanding and knowledge of all systems under security's control (access control, CCTV, fire panel, key controls etc.) and control the associated process to make sure these systems are used to maximum efficiency.
