Job Purpose There has never been a more exciting time to be working in Procurement when you consider the sheer scale of what we are seeking to do in doubling the size of the business whilst reducing our environmental impact.
As one of the world's leading players of HPC category , Unilever is one of the largest users of Oleochemicals in FMCG industry .
Within Oleochemicals , Fatty acids are key workhorse raw material for HPC primarily for Skin Cleansing . This role will be responsible for Europe, Asia, Africa and NAMETRUB supply of fatty acids and related by-products / derivatives like glycerine, soap noodles and esters. Responsibilities include supply and future feedstock strategy , NDPE program management for all fatty acids ( including those used in downstream materials ), successful roadmap implementation to meet NDPE targets , related stakeholder management as well as supplier relationship management and contract management .
Since Unilever directly procures primary feedstock of surfactants and fatty acids , it is extremely critical to understand the value chain and exploit each step in the chain. The procurement process involves good understanding of the market and resulting strategy development as well as excellent internal and external stakeholder management in the hot topic of UL's NDPE commitment and its implementation , so the role does encompass both business and procurement skill sets.
Main Responsibilities Responsible for delivery of Procurement Key Performance Indicators' such as Value Improvement Programs, Innovation Delivery, Payment Terms Extension, Cost Target, Gross Margin Improvement, Traceability & Sustainability, and etc. in line with sourcing strategies and compliance management.
Support Tallow to Veg. transitions for Fatty acids and derivatives in Europe.
Support security of key materials through the development of contingency plans and alternative materials/suppliers.
Closely work with suppliers and consuming countries to ensure material availability.
Responsible for pricing accuracy together with other members of the Regional/Global team
Responsible for Price Forecast maintenance.
Support in identifying Blendflex opportunities, and at times lead regional implementation of global projects involving Oleochemicals.
Support delivery of cost savings in line with sourcing strategies and compliance management.
Support Procurement Manager with the tendering process and the subsequent benchmarking and total cost analysis.
Support complexity reduction programs.
Continuously improve ways of working e.g. more efficient ways of handling data, thereby close co-operation with Enterprise support and Capability Teams.
Support the management and maintenance of supplier relationships.
Support compliance initiative, e.g. contract management, SQA/RS, specs, and etc.
Candidate Criteria Experience & Qualification Minimum Bachelor from any major
3-5 years of experience in Buying or Procurement preferably in Chemicals /Palm
Drive for operational excellence and execution as well as strategic thinking and foresight
Experience in being accountable for Target delivery.
Skill Excellent Excel/Presentation skills and Analytical Skills
Good Communication Skills and able to work in fast paced environment and manage timelines
Strong stakeholder management skills
Experience in Finance ( Costing & Pricing) is a plus
Basic understanding of International Trade – Duties , Taxes , and etc.
Good understanding of suppliers and the external competitive environment in Oleochemical industry
