Job Description
This position has total manufacturing responsibilities for manufacturing facilities in Indonesia and Thailand, including production, maintenance and engineering, facilities, quality, capital, budgeting / implementation, and technology. Directs and leads managerial personnel to meet the safety, operations and business plan. Travel is required to maintain personal contact with the key personnel at each site.
Assures that Indonesia and Thailand manufacturing activities are aligned to meet the established operations and business goals. Directly responsible for site EH&S, Ensures that sites in Indonesia and Thailand region operates in line with the local regulations; ensures adherence to Ferro cardinal rules of safety, emergency response, Environmental standards and security procedures, to preserve facilities and promote good housekeeping. Works with the site leadership team to develop and recommend short and long term objectives for the site consistent with Ferro’s guidelines. Actively participates on the site leadership team. Ensures that all manufacturing activities are embedded within the Business Unit and in close coordination with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Human Resources, R&D and other Business Units as required. Manages the overall activities of the operations to insure proper staffing, maintenance of production and shipping schedules within acceptable quality levels.
Develops site manufacturing budgets, recommends capital plans; manages the sites’ approved manufacturing budget. Drives continuous productivity improvements to ensure attainment of site profitability targets, which consistent with the business strategies to support long term profit growth. Direct responsibility for Process Control/Process Capability. Directly manages Plant Process Engineering function. Provides training, coaching and development programs to assist with improvements in Process Control and Process Capability driving improvement in first pass acceptance. Utilize workforce, analysis of methods, materials, process technology improvement, capital expenditures and facilities to achieve economic operating cost, controlled cash flow and long term – profitable growth using team management concepts and administration of work rules and/or labor contracts consistent with the stated business strategies and profit plans. Manage the overall activities for quality, scheduling, production, and engineering to ensure efficient production schedules, economic operating efficiencies, process capabilities and maintenance of current quality systems.
Conduct performance reviews of subordinates and develop and maintain training programs to support business plan, growth and succession planning. Coordinates local production management teams, makes recommendations for team member award and recognition programs. Other tasks assigned by the line manager.
