If you're an ambitious and dynamic sustainability professional with a strong passion to make a real difference in the fight against climate change, this position may be right for you!**Job summary**:As part of the Global Sourcing team within the Climate Projects unit, you will primarily assist the Sourcing team in ensuring a smooth operation of project sourcing flows, tasks and processes in coordination with different teams. Additionally, you will support business development and project sourcing related activities in the Southeast Asia region. This exciting opportunity entails a combination of business development, project analysis, and stakeholder engagement. This position will be regional in focus and will support Nature Based Solutions (forestry, land use, agriculture, conservation).**Main tasks & responsibilities**:- Support the Sourcing team in the Southeast Asia region to source new project leads and opportunities- Conduct research relevant to new project leads, project developers, project owners, relevant regulatory regimes/policies in Southeast Asian countries- Collect and research relevant data related to Nature-based Solutions (NbS) projects, including afforestation/reforestation, reduced deforestation, ecosystem conservation/protection, and ecosystem restoration (e.g. mangroves, peat, mineral forests), as well as Sustainable Technologies (ST) projects, including renewable energy, biogas, community-based projects etc, to generate project opportunities/leads- Manage and maintain databases (i.e.: Salesforce), ensuring that information regarding project leads and opportunities are well recorded and updated- Attend meetings, seminars, workshops, and events relevant for sourcing team activities, with the primary goal of promoting South Pole and our activities and identifying potential leads- Support coordination and collaboration with other teams within South Pole globally in regards to project leads and opportunities- Collect data from Project Owners or another third party for due diligence, financing plans and budgets, technical, financial and legal documentation- Support global project sourcing operations activities for carbon credits and possibly other environmental market products offered by South Pole- Ensure that sourcing flows and processes (including documentation and interaction with other teams) align with the company guidelines**Requirements**:Essential- University degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Engineering, Law, Sustainability, or any other relevant discipline, ideally a Masters Degree or above- Relevant experience working in the sustainable technologies, or forestry and/or land use sector- Experience and interest Client Management and networking — people skills- Demonstrated interest or skills with commercial transactions and business acumen- Comfortable working with an international and multicultural teams- Professional proficiency in English language skills, both oral and written- Attention to detail and comfortable working on administrative tasksDesirable- Basic knowledge of carbon credits and related international voluntary standards- Experience in project identification and screening for potential leads- Professional proficiency in one or more other Southeast Asian languages is a definite plus**What we offer**:At South Pole, we care about our employees as much as we care about the planet.
