Job Description Architectural DesignDrive the origination and development of new design concepts for hospitality projects.Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining architectural and design standards, communicating the standards to project teams, and ensuring all new design and construction activities are consistent with the same.Lead the team through all phases through guiding, advising, and mentoring other designers on project work, develop design direction and leading critiques.Research the history (purpose) of a project/property and integrate recommended design concepts into the experience customers will have.Act as a primary interface with clients. Work directly with the client, team members, and a wide range of consultants and collaborators both internal and external throughout the life of the project.Review and recommend all architectural designs prior to presentation to senior leadership.Department Management and Project ExecutionRecruit, train and develop a high performing team of qualified Architecture & Interior Design resources. Maintain skilled staffing level against forward-looking project workload requirements.Consult and meet the needs of business senior leadership on major project attributes, timing, capital, and financial planning requirements.Monitor and evaluate project status reports on adherence to schedules, budgets, design, and acceptance criteria. Take corrective action as necessary to ensure project meets all business case commitments.Ensure adequate and accurate information/record is maintained for all active and completed projects including "as-built" drawings and specifications.Evaluate, recommend, and contract with 3rd party architectural firms on an as necessary basis.Plan for and ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements and permits.Plan and manage department operating expense budget. The Successful Applicant Position requires a bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture/Design from an accredited school and 10+ years' experience working on Hospitality or Enterprise design/construction/remodelling projects.35 - 45 years of age.Significant team/people management experience is essential.A strong track record of creative, innovative design, and execution accomplishments is required, as is experience in luxury or hospitality projects.International project experience is highly desirable. Architecture or interior design professional license required.
