One of the multinational financial services companies in Jakarta is currently expanding its business. In this job as Government Relations Associate, you will support their business in Indonesia.
About the Government Relations Associate Role:
You will monitor the political environment for the relevant trends/topics that affect the company's business operations in Indonesia.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate any possible impacts both for opportunity and risk for the company, including all the business units
Develop strategy, represent and liaise with the government stakeholders: OJK and BI with regards to maintaining relationships as well as regulation and/or policy changes
Identify, assess, and address regulatory challenges to business objectives in key regulated industries as well as the public sector market in partnership with and public policy colleagues. This includes collaborating with business units to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy activities and goals
Proactively shape the winning perception in regulatory to support innovation in digital technology, payments, and fintech landscapes
Organise and coordinate political meetings for high-ranking company associates
Regularly report essential political information in Indonesia to relevant internal stakeholders of the company
Provide advice to the respective local GM and business units on external affairs related topics and political positions
Communicate the company's positions to decision-makers and key influencers in order to shape favourable political conditions for the company
Represent the company at local conferences, meetings, and media events
To succeed in this Government Relations Associate job, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior business development teams, across borders and internal matrix.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's or master's degree - preferably in law, public policy, law or macroeconomics (but open to any possibilities)
Minimum of three to eight years' experience in a related field
Experience in professional relationships with the government especially with OJK and BI
Strong interest in learning, agility, and curiosity
Proven experience in advocacy, data-driven, stakeholders and issue mapping, stakeholder’s management, especially in the financial services sector
Good communication and presentation skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Experience in the government or public affairs sectors, public policy consultant, data research firms, or management consultant firms is a plus
