About the VP Engineering - Fintech Role:
Provides programme delivey and end-to-end management of large scale business impacting initiatives both directly and through management of a team of technologists and product owners
Grow, build, and manage a team responsible for fintech products consisting of personal lending, merchant lending, insurance, investment and Data Science solutions for credit risk and scoring
Create and execute large scale programme and project plans as a result of strategic long-term company initiatives
Engage with business leaders and clients to understand business needs and translates these needs into executable solutions
Manage expectations, requirements gathering for large scale initiatives and programmes
Lead teams technology employees through programmes and projects that create, enhance or maintain applications, platforms, and/or technology systems and processes
Partner with other Technology teams as needed to aid with decisions around technology hardware and software usage
Manage, coach and development of a team of 50 engineers
Serve as a key member of the management team setting strategic direction
To succeed in this VP Engineering - Fintech role, you must have at least 12 years of software engineering and software engineering management experience.
Key Requirements:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Experience in Big Data solutions, RDBMS and No-SQL databases
Experience with languages, tools, and technologies such as Go, Nginx, Redis, Jenkins, Datadog, APM, Mobile and web applications development
Experience in Data Science and e-Commerce is a plus
Command of principles of machine learning, statistical analysis and data mining algorithms
Prior experience in Financial Quantitative Modelling and Analysis or Credit Risk Modelling and Analysis is a plus
Proven ability to efficiently manage all aspects of the software development life cycle in an Agile environment
Experience and expertise in growing and scaling software development teams, including hiring, developing, and retaining top talent within the industry
