Summary
The Trainer (Locating) will be responsible for analyzing training needs, developing curriculum and delivering courses, evaluate the trainee for effectiveness of training and individual employee growth, and developing of reporting for measurement of training needs and results. They are also responsible for management of URG Operator Qualification Program for assigned area / region.
Relationships
Reports to: Executive Director or Regional Manager
External Relationships: Contractors, Clients, Utility Owners
Daily Responsibilities
Consults with Locating Managers and Supervisors to assess training needs Develops, implements and delivers training programs for varying levels of individuals within Locating Documents procedures for Locating Develops and maintains continual education support materials to be used for reference once training has been completed Continually evaluates training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed Schedule all upcoming Operator Qualifications – Initial and Re-qualify Provide weekly reporting for status of current training classes and future training classes Schedule all upcoming Operator Qualifications – Initial, Re-qualify, and Re-Certification Maintain Operator Qualifications for region Audit OQ records daily Update the region’s OQ records in the Matrix and LMS Responsible for any communicating and documenting any required OQ communication changes within region Perform OQ performance evaluations as needed Assist management team as requested Adherence to URG safety policies and procedures Other duties as assigned or needed Assists in Compliance role when deemed necessary by Senior Training Manager
J ob Qualifications
At least two years of Locating experience Ability to demonstrate the technical proficiency for Locating Operations Ability to multi-task Possess critical thinking and active listening skills Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point Must have a valid driver’s license and keep violation free Must be able to travel when necessary
