**Where you fit in**:
Based in Jakarta (Indonesia), the Social Performance (SP) Manager will report to the Head of Corporate Relations for Shell in Indonesia.
This is a key role working closely in support of the Head of Corporate Relations (CR), CR team in Indonesia as well as other internal and external stakeholders.
The overall objective of Social Performance (SP) team is to create a positive presence and legacy in the communities and countries in which we operate to gain community acceptance for Shell's business objectives.
This is crucial for our ambition to strengthen our license to operate and demonstrate that we are a responsible company.
The SP Manager is also expected to provide sound expertise and support in delivering high quality fit for purpose Social Performance Management for Shell in Indonesia.
**What's the role**:
The role will lead social performance with an additional responsibility to oversee stakeholder relations management for CR in Indonesia with emphasis on NGOs/civil society organizations and influencers in environment & climate sectors (e.g., think tanks, academics, associations, local community organizations, etc).
More specifically:
- Support Head, CR Indonesia in the development and management of Social Performance (SP) across Indonesia in line with the agreed CR Indonesia plan to strengthen Shell's license to operate.
- Provide SP direction and leadership working across full portfolio of businesses including supporting business delivery (new opportunities, divestments and existing assets) in line with the agreed CR Plan for Shell in Indonesia.
- Provide strategic SP advice (covering national and local geography) to Country Chair and Country Coordination Team in Shell in Indonesia.
- Lead delivery of Non-Technical Risk (NTR) integration at the project level (e.g., new business opportunity, acquisition or divestment) in Indonesia where CR is part of the project team.
- This position will work closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams helping to lead SP excellence initiatives aimed at improving operational capabilities.
- Lead and manage community engagement.
Lead and manage social impact assessment and management.
- Provide input/advise on Social Investment initiatives, planning and budget in Indonesia.
- Responsible for and own stakeholder engagement plan focusing on NGOs/civil society organizations, influencers in the environment and climate agenda (e.g., think tank, associations, academics) as agreed with Head, CR Indonesia.
- Lead the Joint Assessment Review (JAR) on in-country SP and ensure business and functional inputs are represented.
- Actively work towards achieving improvements where needed.
- Provide SP competence development and coaching.
- Oversight of SP plans and procedures.
- Working with shareholder representatives to influence Non-Operated Ventures, if any.
**What we need from you?

- Minimum of 12 to 15 years of professional experience in international organization (e.g., international development institution, non-profit, international donor-funded projects, etc.)
or business/management/public affairs consultancy
- Undergraduate degree in social sciences, public policy or environment preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of SP, including Social Impact Assessment
- Ability to translate business objectives and social performance imperatives into social performance, local content, and social investment plans; extensive experience with SP in operations and projects
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English (oral communications and writing)
- Thorough knowledge of the SP trends and issues relevant for the energy or natural resource industry in Indonesia
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work through and influence others to effect change
- Very good interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to secure the trust of a wide range of stakeholders including senior leaders, community stakeholders, external influencers, social investment delivery partners and colleagues
- Self-starter showing high degree of personal initiative, drive, and desire to come up with creative solutions; ability to work independently, balance competing priorities and manage workload
