About the Role
As our Senior Risk Manager for the Merchant Platform team, you’ll take the wheel in identifying potential risks that may pose a threat to the company, and developing risk mitigation strategies in our fast-expanding business. You’ll analyze, validate, and optimize risk-related data to design and implement policies that will deliver target risk metrics while heightening the level of risk awareness within the company. Owning the team’s key results and the overall Risk Payment function, you’ll also act as the main thought leader for risk-related matters, influencing functional stakeholders to implement other broad risk control strategies in their respective domains. Your efforts will directly bolster the continuous improvement of our platform integrity aimed at further amplifying users’ Trust perception of Gojek, ensuring a safe platform our users can count on and love to come back to.
What You Will Do
Act as the main advisor and thought leader on risk related issues
Monitor the risk metrics, underlying drivers and the overall business metrics
Assess, validate, and optimize risk rules that meet stated risk target metrics
Develop risk platform solutions and mitigation strategies that maintain a holistic view of customer experience
Develop risk roadmap and policies to support the business growth and platform safety
Ensure minimal fraud leakage and spearhead the effort in building continuous consumer trust on our platform
What You Will Need
At least 10 years of related experience in payment risk, preferably within the e-wallet and acquisition domains
Strong understanding of risk solutions on the business aspects of product implementation
Strong ability to assess issues and recommend solution both at the strategic and tactical levels, with a balance of business vision and practical implementation
Ample experience in engaging and partnering with cross-functional and external partners
Extensive knowledge of industry best practices
Ability to proactively build trust-based stakeholder relationships while maintaining an objective mindset
Strong people management abilities in order to manage, mentor, and develop highly cohesive and efficient teams

Our objective as Gojek’s Risk Team is to ensure a safe and trusted platform that our users can trust, rely on, and love to come back to. Our team consists of multinational and multi-background individuals, working together to anticipate and predict potential threats to our platform, design and build tools to fight against and mitigate these threats, and implement and enforce these systems at scale. We partner closely with several cross-functional teams to ensure safe and secure transactions for our users, our Gojek businesses, and our extended ecosystem.
Our team is constantly working on projects that continuously bolster our platform, maintain Gojek’s overall integrity, and improve the resilience of our ecosystem across all the countries and regions we operate in. This is a particularly exciting time to join our family as we’re focused on scaling this team to support Gojek’s growing markets, businesses, and future product launches, propelling our services to all corners of the globe. The questions that are always in the back of our minds are: How do we push the envelope in fortifying our risk mitigation efforts, making them stronger than their last iterations, and how can we effectively increase risk awareness throughout all factions of our company?
When we aren’t busy fighting potential risks and fraud on our Gojek platform, you’d probably find us binge-watching Netflix shows, testing out new food spots around town (mostly ordering in to social distance), and chatting about our coming week on our weekly Zoom calls. Once COVID subsides, we’re excited to be able to meet and socialize over a meal again.
