The Opportunity: This role mainly focuses on exploring accounting, tax, and finance knowledge in several countries.
You will work with accounting agencies and auditors in the countries where the companies are set up.
You will also have a chance to coordinate with Booking Holdings and other brands, gaining exposure to international accounting and finance.
You will learn about our products, businesses, workflows, and contribute to projects and initiatives, such as implementing new payment methods, processing payments for new products, and designing data flows and workflows for new initiatives.
In this Role, you'll get to: Financial Accounts Provide reports and analyze the company's financial performance to support management decision-making.
Motivate management accounting/nominal ledger team to take further responsibility for accounts input and preparation processes, supporting career development.
Collaborate with other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
Coordinate with various operations and support units to ensure timely and accurate data for internal and external reporting.
Accounting Controls Maintain the internal control environment in compliance with corporate policies, anti-corruption controls, and SOX requirements.
Review reconciliations of significant account balances, including daily bank accounts and monthly fixed assets, debtors, and creditors, reporting significant exceptions to management.
Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policies, applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
Tax Understand key concepts of tax returns, such as corporate income tax, withholding tax, and indirect taxes in foreign jurisdictions.
Provide the tax team with accurate information for compliance purposes in local and foreign jurisdictions.
Others Work closely with stakeholders across the company to lead financial reporting and operational functions, assessing the impact of initiatives and projects.
Manage and implement initiatives from a finance and accounting perspective, including requirements gathering, UAT, workflow design, monitoring post-go-live processes, and troubleshooting.
Identify and drive process and technology improvements.
Solve ad-hoc requests and issues.
Provide oversight, training, and coaching to department staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll Need to Succeed: Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
At least 12 years of experience in finance operations, risk control, or finance functions, including management experience.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Energetic, proactive, with good communication skills.
Experience in project management.
Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
Leadership and team management skills.
Skilled in presentation tools like PowerPoint and engaging communication.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with local/US GAAP, compliance, and internal controls.
It's Great If You Have: CPA and audit background.
Knowledge of SQL and data analysis tools.
