A growing tech logistics company is seeking a Senior Commercial Finance - Operations to business partner with operations and logistics department. In this job, you will report to the Finance Director.
About the Senior Commercial Finance - Operations Role:
In this business critical role, you will be a strategic and business partner to facilitate growth and drive business optimisation and profitability. Additionally, this role needs to actively engage with the business to identify cost driver feasibility and cost savings.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and balance between commercial viewpoint and financial perspective in analysing factors for optimisation
Be involved in quarterly and yearly budgeting for each revenue streams within the operations function
Establish and understand the key factors and business drivers
Ensure robust month end, responsible for ensuring proper cost allocation, cost booking and accruals and done in a timely manner
Able to explain any variance between actual vs budget
Provide analysis of key KPIs/trend shown in the financial performance and plan required actions for improvement
Establish strategic and business reviews with key stakeholders
Discuss and negotiate with 3PL for efficient and effective rate
Manage and improve better cash collection, COD and mitigate any risks arise
Manage efficient relationship with operations and regional team
Initiate sharing session and cross knowledge initiative as required
Drive business and engage business to have alignment of profitability performance
Responsible to address and resolve ageing collection items from third party/3PL
Support internal and external audit, initiative and drive implementation of agreed upon recommendations
To be able to succeed in this role, the candidate must possess a strong business acumen, good business partner and have previously work as operations/ supply chain finance business partner
Key Requirements:
Finance or accounting degree
Industry background from logistics and FMCG
Minimum of eight years’ work experience, with previous experience as finance business partner or commercial finance in logistics, supply chain or operations area
Ability to work as a single contributor and manage multiple stakeholders
Open to work in dynamic, fast-paced and demanding environment
Strong in analytical skills and a good business partner
Strategic influencing skills to get alignment on proposals and drive them through
Capability to develop simple modelling, simulations, and experience in doing business cases
Fluency in English; both written and verbal
Good leadership and team management skills, independent and proactive
