A reputed engineering construction company is looking to grow their team and has made available a Procurement Manager job (open to expats). You will be based in Jakarta.
About the Procurement Manager - Open to Expats Role:
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will source construction materials, vendor selection, subcontractors domestically and internationally by using a blend of intuition, knowledge and fact-based analysis to serve customers and optimise the customer order to delivery; reducing costs and improving services.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and monitor the implementation of the strategy/development, bidding, evaluation, negotiation, award, execution, performance monitoring, administration and close out of contract to ensure that all contract and procurement activities are managed in compliance with company internal control standard audit and procedure
Commercial evaluation of tenders and coordinate other elements of the evaluation process with end users in order to provide recommendations for award of business
Negotiate service agreements/contracts with carriers to provide service, price, equipment requirements, and customer service and pick-up and delivery schedules in order to assure cost effective services
Create carrier scorecards, required actions, metrics and other tools needed to monitor progress (reviewing delivery results against schedules and customer specifications, cost, billing accuracy and freight loss and damage) to establish goals and KPI results
Interface with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to optimise transportation rates and services including, but not limited to, sales, customer service, warehouse and planning
Project activities to anticipate impediments of project progress and to assist in the resolution of problems which may adversely affect project design, cost or schedule to ensure all project operations are well performed
Organise and manage variations and claims to their scope of work and successfully negotiate these to settlement, including a running log of all contractual correspondence to settlement
To succeed in this Procurement Manager - Open to Expats role, you will need strong knowledge in the engineering process for mineral processing industry with a minimum of 12 years of work experience.
Key Requirements:
Minimum of 12 years of related experience preferably in EPC of mining processing plant (i.e. gold, copper, etc.) engineering and construction, out of which five years are in supervisory/project lead/managerial position
Previous direct responsibility for total P&L
Good knowledge of the equipment/materials according to international standard specification, good knowledge of relevant subcontractors/service for mining processing plant, good communication and negotiation skill, requires travel to project location, vendor/supplier/subcontractor meetings and visits, interface with commercial/legal service provider
Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
Analytical thinking, problem solving, and solutions oriented
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation
Build trust, relationships and work collaboratively at all levels
Detail oriented in work performance
