The objectives of the WHO Health Emergency Programme support at country level are oriented to enhance the country capacity for preparedness and risk assessment, management and response, with an all-hazards approach, community resilience and medical and psychosocial support in disaster, especially in high-risk areas, both at the national and local levels. WHO is the lead technical agency in health emergencies, and leader of the Health Cluster in outbreaks and humanitarian emergencies. Overall, the post will support to strengthen national and subnational capacity for planning, Implementation and monitoring of preparedness, surveillance and response to epidemic prone and pandemic potential and other public health emergencies of national/international concern.
Under the direct supervision of Team Leader – WHE and the overall guidance of the WHO Representative, the incumbent will perform the following specific duties:
: University degree in medicine.
: Post-graduate degree in Epidemiology or public health from a recognized university or Training on field/applied epidemiology.
: At least five years of relevant experience in working on different aspects of IHR including, disease surveillance, risk assessments, outbreak investigations and health systems strengthening
: Experience with international organizations and/or reputable national institutions
Knowledge: Knowledge of Epidemiology, Knowledge of application various tools of IHR (2005).• Knowledge of risk assessment and field investigation, epidemic and pandemic preparedness and response.• Knowledge in program planning, implementation and monitoring.
Functional Skills: Excellent organizational and analytical skills, complemented by sound interpersonal skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively with high level government authorities, multi sectors and partners and donors and to work at competing environment and with multi sectoral partners.
Technical expertise and Overall attitude at work are also required mandatory competencies.
Other skills (eg IT): Excellent knowledge of computer applications, ability to make oral and written presentations on technical issues; and ability to write detailed, coherent and concise briefing documents.

Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at IDR 682,101,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
