Essential Responsibilities
Supplier Qualification Audits:
• Identify all suppliers / Contractors to be subjected to Supplier Responsibilities Guidance (SRG) audit and qualification audits as per GE guidelines for the region
• Prepare annual audit plan for EAP region in line with company SQ policy
• Complete assigned SRG and qualification audits as per the audit plan and release audit report as per guidelines
• Launch improvement actions wherever applicable and validate the improvement actions through follow-up audit
• Ensure that the new suppliers / Contractors are selected according to company Supplier Quality Policy
• Update the relevant tools and systems
Part / Product Qualification:
• Identify Part / Product qualification projects in discussion with cross functional teams
• Ensure that formal qualification plan and manufacturing quality plan are defined and agreed with all stake holders
• Execute the development projects as per the plan. Complete all documentations and updating in relevant tools.
• Manage and ensure that the qualifications are done on time and First Time Right (FTR)
• Support customers for Final Acceptance Testing (FAT) when necessary at suppliers based on the agreement with regional quality team
• Support third party Inspection services, as required by coordinating with stakeholders
Supplier Non-Conformance (NC) Management
• Review the NC’s raised in the relevant tools and identify top impacting NC’s for further actions
• Launch detailed analysis with support of commodity experts and formal closure with 8D
• Ensure effective review to avoid recurring non-conformists at suppliers or by contractors at site
• Coordinate with Project site Quality team to understand the critical site NC’s and take actions
• Launch improvement actions on regular offenders (Suppliers / Contractors)
Supplier Performance Review / Management
• Systematically identify suppliers impacting company performance and launch actions for improvement
• Escalate to sourcing about poor performing suppliers / contractors for quick action or phase out plan
• Manage regional level top suppliers / contractors for performance improvement (Supplier Focus program)
• Ensure that change management are phased in without business impact
Supplier Quality Improvement
• Identify specific tools / trainings 8D, L1 / L training, Six Sigma to improve supplier and to achieve better Quality, Delivery and Cost (supplier yield/productivity, cost of non-quality)
• Bench marking of latest technologies, Industrial best practices and support in upgrading the supplier facilities and processes
• Work closely with key contractors to improve their systems to meet project quality delivery requirements
Reporting
• Coordinate with the team leader to ensure performance standards, annual objectives, policies and procedures are met
• Periodic review meetings with the leader
Role Summary/Purpose
• Manage Supplier Quality (SQ) function activities across the East Asia Pacific (EAP) region from ITO to OTR execution processes & their associated activities e.g. Supplier/Contractors On boarding, Qualification, Performance Mgmt, Pre-Shipment Inspection & support in participating in FAT for the region
• Handle SQ activities in project-based environment & deal with large contractors and direct product suppliers for project business in the EAP region
Qualifications/Requirements
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge on quality Improvement tools and electrical commodities
• ISO Lead / Internal Auditor certification
• Fluent English & Bahasa is must. Mandarin is preferred.
Desired Characteristics
• 6-10 years in the similar industry with minimum of 2 years in Supplier Quality.
• Expertise on Supplier audits, Quality Management System / ISO 9001/ISO 14001/OHSAS 18000 knowledge
• Expertise / Exposure to project environment
• Problem Solving (8D, action plan) Quality Projects (Six Sigma, project management)
• Process & Product knowledge, Exposure to variety of commodities & manufacturing process
• Self-directed with the ability to work independently in a matrix organization with multiple stake holders
• Strong interpersonal/ persuasion skills with the ability to communicate at all layers of the Business
• Demonstrates a high degree of personal and professional integrity.
• Strong Team management, communication and presentation
• Extensive travel to other countries in the EAP region to manage SQ activities
