**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's / Master degree in counseling, education, psychology, or a related field.
- Possession of relevant state certification or licensure for school counseling.
- Previous experience working with young children in an educational or counseling setting is preferred.
- A strong understanding of the cognitive, social, and emotional development of Kindergarten and Primary School-aged children
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
- Familiarity with counseling techniques suitable for children.
- Familiarity with the educational system, curriculum, and academic expectations for Kindergarten and Primary School levels.
- Demonstrated patience and empathy, with the ability to create a safe and trusting environment for students.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions with students to address specific academic, social, or emotional concerns.
- Conduct group counseling sessions to address common issues or themes affecting Kindergarten and Primary students.
This can include social skills groups, friendship groups, or academic support groups.
- Deliver age-appropriate classroom guidance lessons on topics such as social skills, conflict resolution, bullying prevention, and study skills.
- Be prepared to respond to and provide support during crisis situations that may impact students, such as family issues, trauma, or emergencies.
- Collaborate with teachers to identify academic challenges and implement strategies to support student success.
This can include developing study skills, time management, and organizational skills.
- Work closely with parents and teachers to address concerns, share insights about student development, and collaborate on strategies to support students.
- Use assessment tools to evaluate students' strengths, challenges, and developmental needs.
This may include academic assessments, behavioral assessments, and social-emotional assessments.
- Assist students in transitioning to new grade levels or schools, providing guidance and support during periods of change.
- Provide workshops or resources for parents on topics related to child development, effective parenting, and strategies for supporting their children's education.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to create a positive and supportive school environment.
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
