About the Head of Category Role:
Reporting to the Associate Director, you will build and lead the buying team. This is a unique, exciting opportunity to influence minds and make an impact at the company.
Key Responsibilities :
Identify potential suppliers and convince them to sell their products through the website
Identify apparel categories (men , woman, watches, bags, shoes) that need further improvement in assortment and source relevant SKUs for the category
Negotiate trading margins with potential suppliers on consignment and marketplace terms
Regularly meet key suppliers and provide updates regarding sales performance and required assortment
Liaise with suppliers through email and phone on sales performance and ensure regular inbound of new items
Manage a team of Category Managers and Account Managers
With planner, monitor and take accountability of weekly sales and profit and responding to the product performances with effective merchandise strategies
Work with suppliers on discounting and returning ageing stock
Proactively conduct competitor analysis to ensure a competitive advantage
Proactively recommend initiatives to continuously improve product range
Provide buying team with relevant fashion events and latest fashion trends
To succeed in this role, you must be a self starter with great communication skills and have minimum of eight years of work experience managing consignments and direct purchase apparel in department stores.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business, marketing background
Fluent in English and Bahasa
Previous experience executing, negotiating and closing supplier deals with major retailers, whether for a small player or a major distributor in the market
Exceptional relationship management and negotiation skills
A well-developed eye for spotting winners and identifying product opportunities
Great project management skills
Strong understanding of MS Excel preferred
Strong relationship management skills
Exceptional time management skills
Dynamic, results driven personality with a high level of enthusiasm and commitment
