General Manager - Mining

Demonstrated ability in budgeting (CAPEX & OPEX), cost control, financial forecasting, economic evaluation of mining projects.Develop and implement mine strategies aligned with corporate goals (production, cost, safety, sustainability).
Oversee long-term mine plans (life-of-mine), medium term (3-5 years), and short term (weekly/monthly) production plans.Ensure integration across departments: geology, engineering, operations, maintenance, environment, health & safety, community relations.Optimize mining methods, resource utilization, equipment scheduling, and manpower to meet targets in cost-efficient manner.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field is minimum.
A Master's degree, MBA, or post-graduate qualification is an advantage.At least ***** years of experience in gold mining; of which a significant portion (e.g. 10 years) in senior management positions.Strong knowledge mining methods; rock mechanics / ground control; mine planning & scheduling; ventilation (for UG); blasting; haulage & fleet operations; maintenance practices.Proven leadership in managing large cross-functional teams and contractors.
Good communication skills, conflict resolution, stakeholder engagement.Strong decision making under uncertainty; ability to work in remote, harsh, or challenging environments; willingness to travel.
