At British Gas we have taken Pride over the years as a leader in our Industry, nearly 7 million UK households have our SMART Meters installed, we service more than 6.5 million homes, and we are the biggest supplier of Gas and Electric in the UK.
What we haven’t been good at in our ‘traditional trade roles’ is gender Diversity. It’s pretty poor to be honest. We know we must change. We want to change. We need to change. And we are asking you to help us do that.
Have you ever thought about a traditional trade role? Fitting Smart Meter, servicing boilers, repairing central heating? We also have new trade roles that you can progress into – Heat Pump Engineers, Installing Electric Vehicle Charging points – all this is possible if you join us as a Smart Meter Apprentice – anything is possible!
If you havefour GCSE's/Scottish NAT5’s, or equivalent at grade C/4 or above, preferably including Math’s and English, a driving licence (if you have your test booked let us know), and excellent customer service skill then we need you!
We won’t lie, it is a male dominated role we are asking you to think about, however we know we can change this with your help, we just want you to think about the great opportunities we have available! Be clear we are not saying males can’t apply, they are very welcome too, but we want more females to join us, we strive for a diverse workforce to help serve all our customers.
Your salary will start at £14,000 rising to £17,000 after 19 weeks and £20,000 after 27 weeks. Once fully fledged your salary will have risen to £28,00. You can add a further £5,326 to each of these figures if you qualify for the inner London Geo allowance, £4,740 for the outer allowance and £3,828 for the fringe allowance
