The Role:
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for initiating, coordinating and implementing projects for the Virginia Site.
The Engineering Project Manager will have full responsibility for co-ordinating a portfolio of projects, managing key projects and maintaining the relevant reporting system for the projects in hand. Projects will be managed from an initial stage of conception, to building a business case for the capital expenditure, compiling detailed and accurate cost data, building accurate schedules, writing user specifications, tenders and design specifications and managing execution through to completion.
This position will initiate cross-functional teams from the Consumer Healthcare business during the course of the project, to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
Role Priorities & Responsibilities:
Through a high level of competency in core project management skills, the position will be across engineering projects on site. Whilst the position may not be responsible for the specific management of all projects, the position will be the central point ensuring appropriate prioritisation, alignment and co-ordination across all projects.
Ability to build a clear business case for the project and drive through to approval
Scope definition and full collaboration across all stake holders to ensure the project incorporates what is required
Budget development and maintenance
Schedule development and maintenance
Communication/reporting
Provide leadership and effective management to staff
Manage financial aspects of the relevant projects by ensuring budgets, commitments and forecasted costs are regularly maintained and reported.
Developing and implementing initiatives to reduce cost throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Contribute to the development of a customer focused environment, including the maintenance of good relationships with other functional areas
Ensure adherence to internal and regulatory quality systems
About You & Key Criteria
Project Management background, with strong capabilities to build a project business base and execute the project from conception through to final completion and handover
Engineering related qualification or background
Strong Written and Verbal communication skills
High level of skill with Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
Strong process and technical problem solving and analysis competencies
Proven ability to manage project budget and schedules
Ability to work autonomously and as part of the team
Good presentation, personal organisation and motivation skills
Good ability to prioritise and adapt to a changing environment
Good negotiation skills and ability to manage risk
Relevant experience in a related manufacturing, FMCG or Construction environment would be highly advantageous, but not essential
