Director of Credit Strategy - Credit Card Underwriting
FTE - Direct Hire Position
Reports to headquarters - Wilmington, DE
Currently 100% remote - flexible to partial onsite or remote (USA based)
The Director of Credit Strategy for Cards will work directly within the Credit Organization and contribute leadership and technical expertise to achieve shared objectives. The role will have responsibility for approve/decline and initial line assignment strategies across all acquisition channels. The role will work closely with Marketing in targeting pre-screen direct mail and email campaigns, ensuring desired risk and return levels are achieved. The incumbent is expected to influence this team and adjacent teams by identifying opportunities and proposing solutions. Internal and External Stakeholder satisfaction will be a component of measuring performance.
All Marlette Funding’s Credit Risk Directors must advocate for the creation of risk strategies used to drive Business and Investor Value both in the short and long term while respecting Customer Experience and Organizational Control objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
This individual will be responsible for developing, monitoring and refining underwriting and line assignment criteria
Maintain overall risk and return targets for the card program
Develop and support growth areas including target market and channel expansion
Requirements
5+ years experience in a similar analytical role
Experience in financial industry, credit risk, unsecured lending, near-prime and sub-prime is a plus
Strong experience in (SAS, Python, or R) SQL, MS Excel
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative fields.
Strong communication and critical thinking skills
High Energy with ability to work in a fast paced environment
