Business Case Associate/Manager
Level: Associate/Manager Level
News Corp Transformation team is seeking a Business Case Analyst at an Associate and/or Manager level to work on data analysis, business case development, and assist with tracking of strategic transformation projects and initiatives. This role requires working effectively with the Transformation Management office, consulting partners, and leaders across organizational boundaries, areas of expertise, and global time zones. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced analytics, able to juggle and prioritize work under tight timelines. You must be comfortable with business case and outcome scenarios & risk profile modeling, as well as using financial modeling tools (such as Excel, Alteryx, etc.). You will deal with ambiguous and at times incomplete data – the aptitude to balance buy-in and input from stakeholders with own assumptions and capturing interdependencies will be key in this role. You must be a strong communicator, capable of visualizations (PowerPoint, Tableau, or other tools) and summarizing your data analysis insights to a centralized TMO team and individual project or initiative cross-functional teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop dynamic business cases with raw data (qualitative and quantitative data), integrate dynamic drivers for scenario analyses and create visual output
Partner with Finance, HR and cross-functional stakeholders to gather business case inputs and clearly documented assumptions
Work proactively with Finance business partners, consulting partners, and transformation teams to support maintenance of business case, tracking, and input of financial impact into applicable savings targets, budgets, and forecast
Regularly meet with leaders to track project benefits and update business case and financial budget forecasts
Drive end to end value capture from Transformation Initiatives including benefit identification, value sizing, tracking and reporting of expected and realized benefits during the various stages of the transformation life cycle.
Drive data consolidation, metrics configuration and KPI reporting on an ongoing basis
Partner closely with the key stakeholders to ensure alignment of value metrics & reporting to the broader finance and enterprise-wide reporting mechanisms
Develop value realization plans articulating approach to realize expected benefits articulated in the program-wide business case
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; MBA in Finance is a plus
5+ years of data analysis experience, involving projects with multiple dependencies and constraints. Attention to detail, structured ways of working and documentation, principled rigorous and fact-based analysis
Extremely well-developed analytical abilities
Experience in financial modeling and dynamic business cases
Experience performing cost and benefit analysis
Experience and knowledge of value management, methodologies and tools
Experience in operational performance management and performance indicator development
Intellectual capacity to digest complex information, see trends and analysis through data and to translate this into concrete data-backed financial scenarios
Extensive experience with modeling tools (e.g., Excel, Alteryx) and triangulating data from multiple sources
Experienced in data visualization and dashboarding techniques and tools such as Tableau, QlikView, PowerPoint, etc.
Experience working closely with C-Level and senior executives and simplifying material for both executive and non-executive audience; ability to build compelling narratives with relevant supporting materials
Consistent track record of influencing stakeholders and garnering cross-workstream buy-in
Fast learner and able to link diverse sources of information to the business case, including ability to handle confidential information and materials with appropriate discretion
Ability to navigate ambiguity, preparedness to get involved and do what is necessary to get things done
Ability to juggle, prioritize and work under tight timelines
